Local Government Reorganisation Update

West Berkshire Council has announced that the Government has confirmed plans to create a new unitary authority known as Ridgeway Council, as part of Local Government Reorganisation. The new Council is expected to come into effect from April 2028 and will bring together West Berkshire with most of the existing South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse districts.

The announcement was published by West Berkshire Council, following the Government's decision on the future structure of local government in the area. Holybrook Parish Council has not received any formal communication regarding the announcement or further information about what the changes may mean locally.
