Gas network upgrade works in Calcot- April to November 2026

Residents in Calcot are advised that essential gas network upgrade works will be taking place across several roads in the Carters Rise area from 6 April and will last until November 2026.
These works are being carried out by Clancy, on behalf of SGN, to replace aging metal gas pipes with modern polyethylene pipes. This will help ensure a safe and reliable gas supply for the community.
Where and when will works take place?
- Seton Drive / Carters Rise - from 6 April (approx. 10 days)
- Carters Rise - from 13 April (approx. 15 weeks)
- Carters Rise / Calcot Place Drive - from 20 July (approx. 4 weeks)
- Angus Close / Graham Close - from 10 August (approx. 2 weeks)
- Calcot Place Drive - from 17 August (approx. 3 weeks)
- Millers Grove - from 1 September (approx. 10 days)
- Calcot Place Drive / Brookside - from 7 September (approx. 10 days)
- Church Lane - from 14 September (approx. 10 days)
- Carters Rise / Orkney Close / Mill Lane - from 21 September (approx. 4 weeks)
- David Smith Court - from 12 October (approx. 3 weeks)
- Carters Rise / Underwood Road - from 26 October (approx. 1 week)
What to expect
- Temporary traffic lights and "give and take" traffic systems
- Some temporary bus stop suspensions
- Possible delays - please allow extra travel time
- Bus lane closure between Carters Rise and Underwood Road (late October)
From October, the bus stop in Mill Lane will be suspended for approximately two weeks.

- Traffic management will only be used where necessary to keep everyone safe
