Holybrook Parish Council is permitted fifteen Councillors who stand for election every four years.  There are currently 11 Parish Councillors meaning that Holybrook Parish Council currently has FOUR vacancies.

VICE-CHAIRMAN

Cllr Mary Bedwell has lived in Beansheaf for over 35 years. 

Mary has been a Holybrook Parish Councillor since 2000 and served as Chairman for 12-years.  At the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council, which took place on Monday 16th May 2022, Mary was elected as Vice-Chairman of the Council and is a member of several Committees. 

Current voluntary work includes: President of West Berkshire Volunteer Centre, Trustee for Reading Arms House Charity and Trustee for Dr Ellerton's Charity.  I am keen to ensure that Holybrook Parish remains a pleasant and safe place to live and to encourage residents to take pride in the area.

CHAIRMAN

Councillor Claire Tull has lived in the Calcot area for over 32 years. 

Claire has been a Holybrook Parish Councillor since 2003 and, having been elected by Members at the Annual Meeting on Monday 16th May, is now Chairman of the Council.  Prior to this Cllr Tull served as Vice-Chairman of the Council for 12-years.  Cllr Tull also remains chairman of  the Planning and Finance Committees.

I very much enjoy being a member of Holybrook Parish Council. My main areas of interest are planning and the environment. In particular how we can mitigate the loss of our natural environment as a result of development and urbanisation.

Charlie has been a Holybrook Parish Councillor since 2008 and is currently Vice Chair of the Community & Environment Committee and a member of the Planning Committee. 

I joined the Parish Council because I wished to make a difference in my local community. We can all play a part in improving our area and its environment for the benefit of all residents.

Cllr Richard Somner has lived in the Tilehurst and Calcot area for over 50 years. 

Richard has been a Holybrook Parish Councillor since 2009; he has held the Chairman of the committee roles for Finance and for Buildings Planning until he was elected as a District Councillor in 2015.

I have worked for the NHS for over 11 years and am Lead Contracts Manager for The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust in Reading. I was also a school Governor at Kennet Valley Primary School for 14 years, finishing my term as Chairman. I am also a District Councillor for Tilehurst South & Holybrook.

Andrew Lenaghan has lived in Calcot, both in Beansheaf and Fords Farm, for over 27 years.  He has been a councillor since 2015 as he believes that residents should be an active part of their community; both contributing to and benefitting from this involvement.

I take an active interest in parish life through my roles on the Planning and Environment Committees.  I also believe it is important that residents feel they can come to me with their concerns about life in the Parish.  I believe that my role as a Councillors is to be a voice for my fellow residents.

Clive Littlewood has lived in the Calcot area for over 35 years.

Clive has been a Holybrook Parish Councillors since 2010 and is currently Chairman of the Neighbourhood Active Group.  He is also a member of the Parish Finance Committee as well as Local Liaison Committee representative for AWE Aldermaston.

After retiring, I wanted to be more involved with the local community and, therefore, became a member of the Parish Council.  I am also a volunteer warden for Linear Park.

Cllr Biyi Oloko has lived in the Calcot area for over 25 years.

Biyi has been a Holybrook Parish Councillor since 2020 and is currently a member of the Finance Committee.  Biyi is a school governor with Kennet Valley Primary School.

I am a Chartered Accountant with a portfolio of UK and international non-executive directorships and so I bring many strengths to the Council and Finance Committee.  I am also passionate about my community and consider myself a community enthusiast.  I was elected as a District Councillor for Tilehurst South & Holybrook in December 2021.
