Case story: Providing holistic support to tackle immediate and longer-term problems

Cosier Homes helps people like Yuan.*  Yuan was struggling to afford essentials and relied on a local soup kitchen. A social worker referred him to Cosier Homes for energy advice. When a caseworker first spoke to Yuan, he had no credit left on his prepayment meter, leaving him without electricity, heating, or hot water. Cosier Homes immediately applied to the Fuel Bank Foundation, securing a £49 emergency fuel voucher, followed by £147 in further prepayment vouchers from local funding.

With urgent needs met, Cosier Homes provided in-depth energy advice to help Yuan save money long term. Adjusting hot water use will save him £96 annually, and optimising his night storage heaters will cut another £66. Lowering his washing machine temperature will save £22 a year.
